The Tesselaar Tulip Festival is held annually in Silvan, Yarra Ranges, about a 1 hour drive from Melbourne. Apart from the beautiful array of flowers and ample photographic opportunities for people obsessed with taking photos of flowers (like myself); you will have the chance to view a very fine sculpture exhibition. Highlights include Pimpisa Tinpalts-“Adam and Eve” as well as Chris Vassallo’s- “Exo Skeleton”. Chris is one of the Founders of Lump Sculpture studio. You will recall while ago that I interviewed Dan from Lump. “Sculpture among the tulips” is put on behalf of the Association of Sculptors of Victoria and there is the chance to win a 250-dollar voucher by entering your favourite in the People’s Choice Award. It really is a gorgeous drive; so if you feel like a day in the Hills amongst the tulips and sculptural works, do yourself a favour. The tulip Festival runs until October 9.
